How easy

  S1RST/205GTI
Easy mate really. You need to cut the standard inlet bend or get a samco etc,to allow the filter to be moved back so you can fit the caf on the front, the one you get with the bmc is useless.Got mine from venair 2m 85mm diameter for £30(so not exactly cheap). Also need to remove the acoustic valve to fit the caf and thats a 10min job removing wheel and arch liner.
Bit more info here on acoustic valve removal:

removed the acoustic valve and replaced it with a 2.5" 90 degree samco hose which sucks in air from the back of the front grill. it is no where next to the engine so it doesnt pick up alot of heat. and the faster i go the faster the aire gets sucked in cos it facing forward. i scraped off a thin layer of the samco pipe which allowed me to shove the whole pipe right into the whole on the bottom.
