How long should rear discs be lasting?

I've had mine fitted for just over a year now and they're quite worn down.

When they were fitted the pads were rubbing on the discs slightly when the wheel was spun, however I was assured that this was normal.

What's an average amount of time/miles that rears should be lasting?

Something definitely wrong then! I just jacked it up and spun the wheel and they do seem to be sticking on tbh.

Jack the back up or ramp it. Wheels and see if they are binding. Get a big pair of pliers, and where the handbrake cable goes through, twist this and see if it's releasing.

You can unhook the cable and wiggle the lever back and forth for a while (it never moves very far in everyday operation) you could also take the little rubber cover off and spray some grease in there.

...and that would usually sort it? I know my handbrake cables need adjusting - would this have anything to do with it?

I'll have a look tomorrow, thanks for the info.
