i think my car needs a new ecu, any one have an idea how much they cost? iv got a 1.2 16v clio on a 02 plate. cheers

well either my ecu is broke or iv got an ecu earth problem, basicly my car doesnt start everthing else is fine n me and my mates have eliminated it down to this. it starts when the ecu is earthed but it cuts out after a few seconds. how much would renault charge to fit this?

Sounds like it could be the wiring loom above the ECU, very common problem.

No, the ECU is electrical as is the loom. It's not part of the engine mechanics or running gear

Back on topic, it does sound, as Has says, like the loom issue which is quite common.
