How to burn AVI's to DVD?

Gents, I have loads of AVI films, just wondering is there a way to burn them to a DVD that I can watch on a normal DVD player, not an AVI DVD player, just a normal one, im thinking some sort of conversion is needed?

You need to completely re-encode the file to .VOB format, which takes a good 2/4 hours depending on the file, and your specification.

Some suggestions:
ConvertXtoDVD or DivxtoDVD (both by VSO)
Avi2DVD
TMPGEnc Xpress
Nero Vision
Doom9

All of the above will do that job, try some torrents.

its alot of messing , avi2dvd is proggy i`d use. but as for how many will fit , depends on each ones length and compression thats been used

I use nero at the moment, is about the easiest thing to use imo.
