How to get a polished lip?

As title, when im refurbing my wheels how do i get a polished lip?

sand it down to the metal using a very fine grade paper. then use something like autosol to polish it up..i guess :S

Yep that was my method just checking narr mean, thinking about going for a black wheel with polished lip...
