How to remove rim tape?

Not for me, for a friends car.

He had his wheels sprayed black with a rim which he would now like to remove... whats the best way to do this? Tried to get it off but cant for the life of me find the edge/end of the tape! And the stuffs stuck on its not budging at all!

Im thinking heat gun/petrol?

No idea.

Doesnt matter now - hes been told its not rim tape but actually paint! :O

if you had the rims done properly, id be disappointed if they did use rim tape lol
