i need a headunit..... advice please!

I need;

New headunit + must be compatable with the steering wheel remote,

4 x 13cm speakers

I wanna get the same name for everything and i was swaying towards Alpine but none of their headunits particulary stand out and grab me, i dont know what to do now...heeeeeellllllllpppppppp........please!!

i have the pioneer 7400mp, love it. Alpine is a lovely head unit.

You would have to check for compatibilty with your steering wheel remote.

Im on the lookout for a new headunit too mate. I want the Alpine for quality etc, but Im not too keen on the looks of the display. A bit basic for my liking. Anyway im looking at getting one of these:

A bit cheaper than the 7894 over here so well worth it. Just need to make sure it will work ok first.

alpine is slightly more powerful. but im about to add an amp so the internal amp dosent matter to me.

i like the alpine cos of the quality and the top notch headunits offer 4x60watts, but like adams_2k said there a bit bland looking at the moment. I wonder if theyre gonna be releasing any new units soon?

Think it worked out about £280 quid which is quite cheap considering it about £600 over here. Plus about $40 dollar shipping Also the new Pioneer one with dual display which plays mp3s and wma files is even cheaper. Its the silver one that opens up to display the nice screen. Ill look for a link later.

I like the Alpine one though, its larger than a normal headunit and the screen comes out of the actual headunit. Think its called Phantomface or something.

Need to find out if they work right over here though before I order. Dont want to be disapointed.

alpine dont have the lovely display like pioneer. but they still look nice. my mate has one in his saxo.

They have alot of features for you to tweak with, so its really up to you mate.

yeah no problem mate, fingers crossed it will work ok over here! If the radio tuner doesnt work do you think its still worth buying. I dont listen to radio that often but its always nice to have it!

definatly worth it mate, 9 out of 10 journeys that i make i listen to CDs or cassettes anyway. Nice to have the radio - i see no reason that it shouldnt work but good luck with it mate let me know!
