is this the same as mettalic silver on the 172s?

defo the same as the first (bug-eye) 172s, cant say for the later ones. The best colour IMO - had a R5 in it...colour always looked mint, even when dirty...

The last bug-eyed 172s where in the iceberg silver colour.

The earlier ones came in, i think it was called, platinum silver which is more of a lighter shade of silver

The early mk1 172s came in titanium.

Its the same colour as the new 182s.

My valver is iceberg silver...colour code 440. Loonies right, there is a hint of blue in there. Never looks dirty!
