Right guys, im new here so please be nice.
recently bought my self a 182 and have had a long list of problems. slowly working my way threw them, but theres on that is proving to be a bit of a sod.
intermittently the car will not start. i get the solid red immob light. this as i have researched shows that the key has been recognised but immob is active due to can bus/ communication problem.
to counter this i have completely stripped the loom from the ecu down across the box, up the wing, threw bulk head to the uch, and all seems fine.
when i do a quick can terminating resistor test across (if i remember correctly) pin 6 and 14 i get 60ohms as i should.
i have scanned the car with auto logic (dealer level) and with my snap on solus. unfortunately when i had access to auto logic it was starting fine.
i was starting to think possibly the uch is at fault.
on the way home today (after it wouldnt start for 10/15 mins) my auto wipers and auto head lights have stopped working, i noticed this as i got the warning chime when i opened the door and the lights remain on, only now working via the manual switch.
can any one add any input to this ?
im considering buying clip off of ebay. being from a vag scene i know there are some dodgey copies of vagcom on there. are the clip copies ok or knock off junk ?

edit:thought i would add that i have removed the uch and opened it up, no visible signs of burn damage or water ingress
