Inner O/S Driveshaft CV Boot

172 Ph1 Driveshaft, single piece (i.e. no support bearing on the back of the engine block). The gaiter closest to the gearbox is split, and im trying to get hold of a replacement from somewhere other than Renault.

Ive replaced other outer gaiters in the past and they are a couple of quid maximum, so I really dont want to be paying £40 inc the VAT from Renault for an inner one if I can help it.

Phoned nearly every factor in the NW (GSF, General Traffic, Euro Car Parts, Pages, CES, and many more smaller ones) but none of them can seem to find the right part on their system. I gave a couple of them the OEM part number for the gaitor too, which did return some results - but when I asked for the dimensions of the gaiter they were referring to, it was way off.

Anyone replaced the inner O/S gaiter without buying from Renault?

I was told renault is the only one that can supply the correct one, so i got in touch with Ryan(nwp) and managed to get one for a meggy i was working on for £38.83

Ahhhhh sigh. I can probably get hold of a replacement shaft for that sort of money lol, paid £40 for my last one - joke!

What about the universal ones from the likes of ebay.. theyre nice and stretchy and fit most sizes as you cut off the diameter you dont need. My mates just fitted one to his meg.

I replaced mine last year... sure I got it from a local autofactors for £2 LOL

Can you remember the dimensions or anything Gray? All the factors round here seem to have no idea at all.
