Would taking the advanced test give me significant insurance discounts? Is anyone on here a member? If so how much does it cost and what does it involve?

any insurance discounts seem to end at pass pluss with most companies

im sure theres a few insurance companies for advance motorists jus need to hunt them down!

im sure most 5-0 will have advanced insurance so next time u get pulled ask them

youll get a max discount of 7.5% of youve got I.A.M

And thats if that particular insurer does give a discount, theyre not obliged to...

Youl get diddly squat mate with the vast majority of insurance companies.

Been there and done that with ROSPA which is one higher than IAM.

Even my examiner who was a chief police instructer best driver in the world sort of bloke got no discount !

Depends.

Some companies do it.. but then, some do it but not on high performance cars. Its weird.

dont now about insurance - but if u become an advance driver u get a free tweed cap, a volvo, a pipe, a caravan to tow, an a holier than thou attitude to other road users.

my missus is one, all i hear down the motorway is "ohh 3 in a bed"!
