insure a second car with another company

am i allowed to insure a second car with another insurence company? i want a second car to use over winter while i "do up" my car am i allowed to insure a second car with a diffrent company? or does it have to be witht he same company? also whats the cheapest car to insure?

You can insure a second car with whatever company you decide, you just cant use the no claims on the second policy.
