Insuring 2 cars anyone know, advise me

hi guys, just need your advice on insuring a second car ?

Do you have to use the same company to insure both cars?? or can you use a different company? Just wondering, as the second one will be stripped out and modified, and will need a specialist insurance company to insure it.

And... if you can use a different company, do you have to still tell the original insurance that you now have a second car, and will that effect the premuim on the 1st car?

Any ideas? Thanks.

Best ring your insurance compnay HIC (Adrian Fluxs insurer) let you insure the second car using your NCB twice as such.
SOme insurers alow you to add a second car to th policy realy cheap though and some wont ven think about covering you meaning youll have to take out a whole new policy and have no NCB. You NCB can be used on one policy though.

Do you have to use the same company to insure both cars?? NO but they usually match or give good NCB or can you use a different company? YES may be lucky and get good NCB Just wondering, as the second one will be stripped out and modified, and will need a specialist insurance company to insure it. HIC give free track day insurance with their policies

And... if you can use a different company, do you have to still tell the original insurance that you now have a second car,YES as it could invalidate your insurance

and will that effect the premuim on the 1st car? Usually NO

Any ideas? Thanks.

a second car might drop the premium on the first car? surely if you have two cars u drive one less than before and thus theres less risk.

I had my 205gti on a temporary policy while I was selling it after I got the 182, its group 12 and cost me £30 a month or something.

  172 cup

I got my 172 cup 5 weeks ago before id sold my 306. Was insured with HIC but changed to elephant for my cup. Anyway, i couldnt leave my insurance running on my 306 with HIC, as i couldnt have my NCB on both cars at the same time apparently, so HIC wanted 80quid to remove my NCB. I ended up cancelling my HIC policy altogether, insuring my cup with elephant then adding my 306 as a temporary 2nd car for 11quid per week. It was a lot of hassle but i only had my cup for 2 weeks then i got the 306 sold.
