Does it cost more to insure an imported Japanese motor compared to a UK model ? If so , how much more roughly are we talking ? A bit , hell of alot and why ?

I'm considering a DC5 at the moment, I'm too scared to do any quotes at the moment though lol, watch this space.

Finding a decent one is a mission in itself :(

What japcrap are you thinking or buying mate?

I have been quoted £992 for a 2002 DC5, as long as it has a Thatcham Cat 1 alarm and immobiliser.

Fully- comprehensive cover.

Excess is £250.

I'm 24, have 5-years NCB and the car is registered to a low-crime, rural area.

Admiral did a fine job insuring any i have had....except a Honda Crx for some reason but that was yrs ago. Worth giving them a try.

Tell him to be careful with import 350Zs, they had some s**t spec levels available in Japan, no Brembos and gash wheels :(
