Internet explorer banner detail missing

I'm having a slight problem with Internet Explorer and if anyone else has come across this...
In the actual banner strip at the top, it's only showing the first letter in any webpage I visit. (example is with cliosport, it's only showing "c", ebay - only "e" etc.)
Has anyone come across this before? If so, does anyone know whats causing it and how do I correct it??

I know the bit that normally says 'Microsoft Internet Explorer' is in the registry but the website title...ummm not sure about that one!

ok .. I've already looked in the registry to see if I could reset the banner title but everytime I do and come back out it just resets it to what you see at the top

Mmmmm .... Firefox might be a good idea, although with the way Microsoft is Soooo Crap, I Might just go back to my Amiga instead
