IPOD Query - I just got a new computer

  Racing Blue 182
My old laptop broke and went all corrupt, so i lost all info on it. I have got a new laptop and was wondering if there was anyway i could install my ipod without looseing all my songs off it.

I seem to remember that you have to have the songs stored on itunes so when it updates it dont delete them.

Safest bet is to use iDump and back it up so if your library syncs itself, you have a backup ;)

Just load it up as normal. They ask you when you connect a new ipod (which it will be to the computer) if you want it to be updated automatically and just say no manage it myself.

Then use a program like sharepod to get all the music off the ipod onto the computer. Import it all into iTunes. Only problem is playlists which are a bit difficult.

Thats what iDump does, dumps the music from your iPod to your PC.

I also then burn that to a DVD so I have backups should it ever go wrong.
