3 f**ked head gaskets in 12 months?

Just got my car serviced and asked them to check out an oil leak! Apparently its coming from the Head gasket which suggests my 3rd deed head gasket!

Renault replaced it about 7 months ago less thatn 5ks ago!!!!! When they were sorting out a bent valve! Does anyone else have this problem or is it my sh*tty car?Im going to have a go at getting Renault to pay for a new one!

i think you need to check the head isnt warped if it keeps blowing gaskets.

edit: did it overheat badly at any time?

Clearly its got to be a knock on effect, if your cars under warranty force them to investigate it further. Otherwise go to an independent..

Well the parts and labour should be under waranty as they were replaced less that 12months ago! otherwise im going to get somewhere else to do it! Ive given up on dealers, they are a waste of time and effort!

did they skim the head when they changed the gasket? if not then this could be your problem as the face of the head could be warped

Dont eva remember the car over heating at any point! It could jsut be a dodgy head gasket i guess!

it doesnt have to overheat to warp. most places will recommend skimming the head every time the gasket is changed to ensure the surfaces are flat. are they using metal gaskets?

what engine is it? no skimming is allowed on the new 16v petrol engines and they use a metal headgasket. older 8 valve lumps can be skimmed if nes and they use the old style fibre gasket.

Its a 1.4 16v, as for the engine type fook knows! One fo the things im going to ask the dealer when i go down tomorrow! With mt Dad! They are always arsey with me saying its my fault that it dies all the time due to my driving! The fact that it hardly eva gets taken past 4k revs and only does about 400 miles a month now makes me believe that its got f**k all todo with my driving!
