The guy is saying it doesn't work.

It is the Renault Clio standard one.

He is saying it spits out discs but when it left me work 100% fine.

What should I do?

Why should I have to though?

I can guarantee it was working when it left here. If it has been damaged on the way that's his fault as I said I'd prefer collection for this very reason.

How do I know he hasn't just swapped it with a fecked one?

Mark everything you sell in a way that helps you identify it, Sam.

Oldest trick in the book.......Ebay broken goods replacement scam !

Someone on here was even bragging about doing it a while back :nono:

Just had a think about this...

I know the code so if it isn't the same code then it isn't the same item.

Unless you can recode items to what ever code you want?

Yeah I should really mark the items in some way.

I think that would be a lot of trouble to go to, so you should be OK on checking that Sam.

An engraver is ideal, failing that use a u/v marker somewhere discreet !

I reckon he is being a tool about this.

He is now saying it just comes up with error when he puts the CD in as opposed to "spitting them out"

if you buy a second hand HU on ebay you should always kinda be prepared it might not work

I disagree. If I were to buy goods that someone says is working, I'd expect it to work otherwise you're damn right I'd be getting a refund. If something has been damaged in transit, it's down to him to claim off postal insurance IMO. The buyer can always specify extra insurance cover and pay for it. You would have correctly advertsied the condition of the radio and the method by which you were delivering it. So from there you remove yourself from it I say.

Personally, in the refunds bit I always say I will not give a refund. Because just like you, I post the goods in good condition and after that I don't want to be messing about with it!

You should have put a mark or something on the one you sold tbh - that way you can identify it if he sends it back to you. My guess is he'll sent you back a f*cked one & keep your working one.

I always copy the serial numbers on things (mobiles & stereos etc) plus any other electric gear I sell. I even state that in my ads.
