Motor could be knackered. The good news is that because of the line (3 series and above), the motor is removable and serviceable, rather than being plastic welded in.
Take to the nearest Karcher outlet and describe what's up. They will most likely charge, but it'll be far more cost effective than buying a new one.
had a smilar problem and was looking at 70 odd quid to replace the motor so said sack that and bought a niflsk one instead. when i researched it i found the range of karchers designed for home use are really quite appalling loads of people having issues with them all due to cheap build quality.
