Key doesn't work

I know ronnies battery is flat n all, and the remote locking isn't working, but yesterday the key wont work on the drivers door and only works on the passenger door...manually of course. Is this to do with the battery being dead, cos it was working fine before when the battery was flat?

And thats stopping the key from turning? Passenger side is fine though...touch wood.

yes the drivers door would lock thru the central locking but not unlock. the only way of unlocking it was going through the passenger door. key would do f**k all in the door
