Really it all depends on how big your budget is and how far you want to go with things.

I'd say the essentials are a sheepskin mitt, two buckets and a decent shampoo such as Chemical Guys body wash n Wax, Carlack or Zaino Z7. A microfibre drying towel, my personal preference are Sonus Der Wunders or a Huge towel currently on offer.

If you have a prsssure washer then the foam lances are absolutely awesome. Make washing a pleasure and much more fun.

Then for sealing/waxing it really is what you want to spend.

You really cannot go wrong with Carlack Nano systematic care, which is fantastic pre wax cleaner and sealer in one. Much like SRP but without the dust and chalkiness. Top this with Collinite #476s (#915 on darker colours) and you have a cracking combo of products for not much cost. We do a kit with the sealant and wax for £27 http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/complete-detailing-kits/collinite-476s-carlack-kit/prod_408.html

For a better looking wax, Victoria Concours hands down is one of the best carnaubas on the market. Hand made in canada it contains high levels of caranuba and give a real nice wet gloss that only carnaubas can really give. Victoria Collectors will give more durability (my go to wax).

If you have a bigger budget the look at Zaino which is fantastic set of products. Great looks and amazing durability.

Hope thats of some help.

Cheers Tim
