Knackered Shocks

This came up in another thread yesterday - but how do you know when your shocks are shot? Noisy? Can you tell by looking at them? Wheels fall off? What?

MOT stations just push down on each corner and let it bounce, if it doesnt settle straight away then they are on there way out.

They leak oil....just look for wet spots.

Thats the problem when only replacing the springs with shorter ones...the shocks are under load so the seals wear sooner.

Coilovers...MMMMmmmm! but £500+

Cheers Mat Ill drop it from a great height tomorrow morning and see whether it bounces .

Yeah Chris £500+ does sound a lot, but how much would 4 new shocks cost? (Building up the financial case for the family accountant here ).

hehe coilovers are great and well worth the money

£500 is £500 well spent.i was in the situation where standard springs were £200,so 2 springs and 4 shox, all top quality stuff for £450 is a bargain lol

get sum bought u wont regret it
