Knocking / Banging

My clio 182 sport knocks / bangs when you reverse on the right hand lock. Has anyone else had this problem? If so what was it Cheers Lee

see threads on engine mounts that is a usual cause of banging

strange it is only in reverse though, might be a stability rod

Does it knock when you accelerate hard in first gear?

Top suspension mounts were the problem with mine.Only knocked when on gradient and reversed a yard or so. What was replaced/altered dont know,dont care.The only thing Clarkys been able to fix,albeit 4 attempts. The 182s have had problems with engine mount,off-side, my 172 has been OK so far!!.

mine knocks when you accelerate hard in first gear. It has been back to the dealer who replaced the top strut mounts. I also had independantly looked at, the mechanic said it could be down to the bushes not being able to cope with the pressure under acceleration. I take it this is a common problem, is there anything that can be done without voiding the warranty ie a strut brace to try and stiifen the front end up?

My mate Sam took me in a spin in his 172 last night, and he showed me the knocking, accelerating hard in first gear gives a knock with a sort of squeek, its a weird sound.

but i believe it to be the engine mounts.

LeeShez, u the fella i talked to on Sainsburys the other night? Black 182, been back in for a leak or somthing?

I crashed into the wall at saindsburys monday night :/

Some dizzy cow in a freelander pulled out on me :/

big scratches on bumper now but not that much damage
