Lamba/02 Sensors

Hi people.

I have really poor MPG on my sport and plugged it into my RS Tuner and it said 02 sensor problem.

I'm just wondering how do you find out which one is broken as I hear there is a pre and after can sensor.

Where do I buy either/both from and how much are they??

I believe it's post cat. They're about £70 from GSF aren't they?

You can use the RSTuner to see if it's buggered or not

pre cat is the only one that effect the running of the engine. Can supply you one. Dont know the price off the top of my head

Yeah my bad, only the one before the cat will effect the way it runs.

Currently I do a 86 mile trip to work on a monday at 5AM (Roads are really quiet) so I sit with the cruise control at 70 MPH.

Ill be lucky to get more than 36 MPG. I've read on here people doing similar journeys and getting 45+

I've had the exact same thing come up on my rs tuner same syptoms too. I've ordered a new lambda hopefully get it fitted this week I'll let you's know if it helps my fuel consumption.

My check engine light isnt on and rstuner isnt throwing a a fault. I thought you could maybe see what the voltage is doing or something to see if its slow or on its way out.

Normally you can tell which sensor from the fault code. Bank 1 sensor 1 being pre-cat and bank 1 sensor 2 being post cat?

36 mpg at 70mph isn't bad, I wouldn't expect to see much better than that. Plus I wouldn't trust the computer, you're best to brim the tank, reset the trip meter and note how many miles and how much fuel at next fill up and use that to work out the MPG.
