OK, starters question...whats a lambda sensor, and its use? Can it be on carb cars?

err, think its used to monitor exhaust gasses after theyve been burnt.

My 172 has 2, one before the cat, and one after.... thats why theyre a ballache to de-cat.

they are easy to decat mate fred did mine last night no lights no nowt

It supplies a voltage to the ECU detailing the amount of fuel in a portion of air.

Im just gonna have a staight pipe in place of the cat. Am I going to get any probs doing that?

well i dont so far mate and mine just has the first lamda sensor in it

Is yours just a plain pipe m8. Where is the sensor, is it still in the original pipe b4 the new section?

its a the supersprint decat its a 70mm pipe just plain with a the flange on one end to mate to manifold

yeah the second lambda as far as im aware doesnt do much!!!!

I fitted dogmauls supersprint last night, and it comes with a threaded hole for the lambda to fit in (only for the first lambda)

I disconnected the second one (after the CAT) completely and jus cable tied the wire out of the way!!

I guess the second one is there to check emissions???? any ideas???

No engine light up on the dash



This means all you mk2 172 owners can now go and get mk1 decat pipes, come round my house, give me some £££ and ill wack those de-cats on the car for you!!!!!
