Little Advice on MOT and a few questions.

Alright guys, not sure if this is in the right section, move it if need be :)

I have an MOT coming up and its the first MOT I have had and I wondered if there are any certain checks I should personally be making prior to the test to improve chances of success? Obviously I will check oil level and washer level.

Also, I am getting the MOT done somewhere that uses a flat ramp as I cant get onto the others, will the height be an issue in terms of me passing? Its not stupidly low but I do struggle on usual ramps with the front of the car.

Any advice would be brilliant :)

Basic check tyres, wiper blades washer fluid, no warning lights on dash!

Just google mot tips and follow guides.

Thanks lads. Does anyone know of a height restriction/rule or is it just common sense.....you cant get on the ramp....you dont get your MOT?

No real height restrictions , the tester can refuse if he thinks it will damage the car , all tests should be carried out on a 4 poster MOT specific ramp, as long as it goes in the brake roller tester I will test them ! If not they can do a deceleromoter test !

If its not stupid low you should be fine !

MOT this month too i know it needs two new tyres on front....is it better to replace before or let the car just go in as it is

Get them done before mate ! If its got loads wrong with it they are more likely to fail it where as if there's something borderline and it's got nout else on they will more likely pass it !

And not to mention it's good practice !
