Loud Bang?

Hello,

I have had just about everything go wrong with my 2003 clio but dont know too much about cars :(

Yesterday I was parked, I went to move and my car wouldn't move. I had my handbreak off and should have rolled as i was on a hill. It didnt move so i put it in reverse and tried again and it still didnt move. It then decided to make a massive bang/clunk and worked fine.

I think it might have been my hand break seizing but it wasnt that cold?

Please help.

thanks

Was it raining/cold/snowing between parking and attempting to move off ?

Sticky pads I bet. Wouldn't worry !

However for a precaution, check there's meat left on the pads and if you can, jack it up, handbrake off and ensure the calliper isn't sticky/fubard by rotating the wheel.

Nope it isnt a sport. I have no idea what kind it is. I think it is a 1.2?

I just put the handbreak back on last night and didnt bother to move it but I dont want to take it to the gargae if it nothing?
I hit a massive pot hot the other day too if thats anything to do with it?

The pads stick on the rear disc a lot mate my does when it wet , cold , not ripped the pads out yet

If it is a 1.2 it's probably drum brakes on the back. Any excessive noise after and continuing now? Seen brake shoe linings rip off after stuck on but could have just been them freeing off.

This.

just prob sticky rear shoes or something, if the handbrake still works and brakes seem ok i wouldnt worry.

well i took it out a drive and the breaks seemed to work fine but they squeak now, which they never used to.
I got them stripped down and cleaned like a month ago?

I am extremely paranoid about anything that happens with this car cause so much has went wrong!

I had similar on my 1.2 the shoe lining came off and wedged in-between the other shoe and the drum!

EDIT: Re-read your post, sounds more like it was just it freeing up from being stuck! In other words not the issue I had!
