  1.8 Civic EX

On my Alpine MRD-500. What does the lp actually do? it ranges between 30-200hz. So say if i set it to 60hz, will this only allow bass notes below 60hz to be heard??

Well it was on 50hz and I bumped it up to 100hz and it was soo much louder and even shut off after about 2mins of full volume. Confused me slightly as i didnt touch the gain atall. only thing I changed was the lp. Ive put it down to about 68hz I think now but havent tried it out yet. thanks andy

gains possibly set to high if the amp cut out

100hz means more movement from the sub, so more work for the amp, to be basic about things. As said, it prevents frequencies above the set frequency from being played.
