Hi going to help a friend detail a Fiesta St with stripes , at the polishing stage do I need to mask them or can I just polish them the same?

Is it then possible to then do the reverse and polish the stripe as they look quite sorry for them selves

  Whichever has fuel
You can polish the stripes, but if you're using a rotary, be aware that they're very very soft and mark very very easily. You also run a lot bigger risk of burning them so keep the polisher moving.

When I did my wife's old RB I taped the stripes when machining either side of them, but then carefully went over ensuring the pad never left the edge of the stripe
