Media PC Question

I am going to build a media PC for the lounge. We have a Virgin V+ box. Is it possible to transfer all the things that are recorded on the V+ box to the new Media PC to free up the space on the V+? If so, how?

The box has a "Service only" USB port so unless that can be free'd up as a normal port I wouldn't have thought it possible.
