memory card reading problems

the last few times i have put my sd card or memory stick into the reader to copy my camera pics it has not automatically given me the options ie copy pictures, view pictures etc.
have i turned it off somehow? and if so how do i turn it back on?

I quite often have to go into the device manager uninstall the memory stick. Take the memory stick out of the USB port. Place it back in and Windows shall reload the drivers for it. This has always worked for me but there maybe an easier way.
