Nice discreet components for the front and back, 250 quid should get you a nice Boston set. I had them and they were very clear with a 50W RMS Phoenix Gold amp.

looks like a good system for 500 - dont go to halford tho!!! its far to expensive and they may try to talk you into getting a sony xpold sub with sony xpold 6*9s or something!!!

Order it off the internet - buy the sub box (£40 ish) and bolt the amp and crossovers onto the box you should be fine!!

yesterday the 500 was burning a big hole in my pocket!

il try them websites sounds like a good idea with the buying a box but not sure i want a sub and amp now? i do but im wondering if some good uprated speakers like the ones bam bam mentioned for the doors and rear will do?

as my std ones are cracking a lot think a connection or speaker might be shot!

Also good speakers really do need to be amped - you could pick up a cheap 2 channel amp second hand?

500 would get a good set of fronts and good 2 channel amp - with money for sound deadening.
