MISSING DEFLECTOR.....

Had a bit of a problem today. Wanted to replace the rear wheel bearing on my 172 but when I took the disc off I found the deflector on the axle was missing. Where is the best place to get a new one from, is it a part Reno will stock.

Thanks in advance.

Are you sure about that? See PDF attached.

That is what I initially thought, but the replacement bearing will not fit without a deflector. The radius on the edge of the bearing that contacts the axle is bigger than the one the original bearing had, this allows the bearing to be pushed onto the axle too far and there isn't enough thread to tighten it.

I thought it was the wrong bearing from GSF so went to Wilco but their replacement bearing was exactly the same.

Been to Renault today and ordered 2 new deflectors. They are critical as without them it causes an unwanted stress point. Can't belive someone has put my disc's back on and forgot about them. Probably why the bearing was jiggered in the first place.
