More Paint Help

[N8 OLS]

I know there are plenty of similiar threads to this about the forums but nothing I can find really answers my question. I'm looking at getting some exterior door handles for a colour coding jobbie they will come painted silver however and I'm looking to paint them nautical blue. Just wonder if I can spray straight on top of the silver or if it's a case of sanding down? If so what paper will I need? Hope someone can help.

A quick wet sand with 800 grit wet and dry for the new paint to key to should be fine . Then a few coats of colour and 3 coats of lacquer . You could primer it , but as long as you only lightly wet sand you shouldn't need to .

Thanks for the help evry1! lost the bloody things in ebay bidding anyway went for 52 quid the pair... someone really wanted sum silver ones! anyone know where I can go about getting a pair of exterior mk2 ph2 handles?
