My 1.2 what should i do

its same rubbish cant aford the insurance on a 172 - 182 . so i went for a 1.2 just woundering what mods i should make to the car. any idears? thought about putting the OZ Racing Super Turismo wheels on. you no the white ones? and maybe a 172 back bumper? any idear? feel free

Personally I would get the wheels that you mentioned. Think they look real good on the Clios. Is yours a Mk2 Phase2? Also I would colour code it, clear side repeaters and silvervisions all round. Also lower it then leave it at that. Wouldnt get a 172 rear bumper but thats just me. Post some pics up so we can get an idea

I think Babbage pimped out his horse drawn carriage on OZ Super Ts, they are that old.

Basically, get your car lowered on coilovers, fit some of those silversion indicator bulb things, lower profile tyres, and you're sorted.

Get it lowered on Coilovers, if you cant stretch to that get some apex shocks and springs, Clear side repeaters and silvervisions are a must, and a relativly cheap effective mod. Maybe some 172 FF alloys would look good?

i'm not sure where to start with this silvervision? what is it just a light bulb? ive looked on the philps web site they have Halogen bulbs and Xenon. dont understand it really. would i replace my parking light, low beam, high beam and spots with em? a lill help please.

silvervisions are your indecator bulbs instead of being a rather homo orange they are silver but flash orange.

personally ive chose the non dicky roote and kept my car standard apart from headunit, i dont think theres anything worse than someone wasting money on a 1.2.
im just learning about driving in my first year and waiting for my insurance to go down then its play time with a nice 172.

Not yet, but will do by the end of the day, it's getting cleaned and polished, so i'll post a pic in here tonight! Yeah they're 16's bud, DONT go any higher. Going from 15's to 16's really did make a difference on handling and acceleration. Also, if you're going to buy them, I can't reccommend www.potn.com enough. £599 delivered with toyo tyres and 5 sets of free wheelnuts (and 5 locking nuts). Ordered Monday, arrived thurs waaaaay up in north of Scotland.

Also, that's my car fitted with silvervision indicators on the pic so you can compare with yours. Have a look and ebay for those, I got 2 sets for £8.

Thats the xenon bulbs. You can get blue tint bulbs from ebay etc but they look cheap and cack to be honest.

I'd leave it as it is fella, looks mint enough.

lower it on apex, silvervisions, colourcode the handles (they look shite with the rest done) standard wheels, turn the fogs off and leave it like that

lower it 60mm, coilies or springs, wheels no bigger than 16's, Superlegs or Turismos. Silvervisions. Colourcode all round. Maybe a bit of engine dressing, few bits of carbon.

Personally i prefer modifying a car in as much as you improve it aesthetically without necessarily changing the shape of the car, so dont bother with bodykits or ridiculous bumpers. Same applies with supplementing 182/172 bits onto the car, just my opinion though

Renault Sport front grill. Lower. Silvervisions. Colourcode handles. 172 look-a-like side skirts.
Will look good then IMO. Maybe consider 172 rear bumper aswel but do the rest first.
Then change wheels if you still want to.

I've got the extreme 4 clio 1.2 which basically comes with the same spec, i've put 17 inch wolfrace wheels on so far and the next step will be lowering it as its sat too high at the moment.

Am looking at tints, custom exhaust system and a nice set of sideskirts that dont look over the top.

Best thing to do would be just to have a look at other peoples cars and see what they have done and decide weather that would luk good on yours.

seriously tho fogs look stupid when its not foggy... lol ive been known to put full beam on "by mistake" when someone with fogs comes towards me when its not foggy.

Ok, didn't realise he was a first-time driver, but still... it's a 1.2 so never going to be quick - so just keep it nice and clean and standard to retain max. value, and move on when the NCB racks up.

car cost me 8500. wanted a 182. but its not the case off been able to aford the insurance, its im not willing to pay silly amount on insurance not like its an investment is it now. its bad enuff on my 1.2 with a total loss and 3 points (145.oo a month) heres my old car...
