Are they making you pay the lot then Si?

Considering what has happened Id be on the phone to watchdog. An engine of that age should not be doing what it did!

There wasnt one, it was done via pm/msn as this one probably should have been.

I can take a guess at whats happened but I dont want to speculate incase Im wrong.

  don't

cough offtopic cough, no real clio discussion here :)

so basically car got ragged and blew??

could withstand the beating it was given

If no one tells you can speculate,

Id heard he had a thingy in the exhaust pipe, giving the car some manly love, and the build up of pressure knackered the engine, I may be wrong though, not heard the full story.......

Ok ok... maybe this shouldnt have been posted but was trying to find a way to deal with it.

Basically whats happened is whilst driving home on Tuesday the spark plug in the 3rd cylinder came undone. Its wrecked the plug obviously, blew the HT lead apart.

The reason why its so expensive is back in August I had a terrible miss-fire where I changed the coil pack and relatively easy spark plugs. Sadly the spark plug I put in had a crossed thred which although checked went in fine, but wrecked the thread in the cylinder head. Its been slowly working itself loose over time.

The thread on the head is mullered - so needs a helicoil to sort it. Renault say they need to take the head off + cambelt change + gaskets + bolts... loads and loads of sh*t.. lots of labour and a grand total of £1,600 to repair.

There you go, idle speculation over.
