My car has made me very happy !

Last night, I went out for a drive down some great open country roads and the car just made me smile from ear to ear. It was the first time I have been able to open it up on some roads with good corners since I have had the Eibachs fitted and the car feels so great now. It was pitch black with no road lighting and I had my full beam on blasting through these small lanes which then led to the common, a massive open space of land with some more great straight roads.

Managed to do some 1/4 mile and 0-60 practice runs on the straights on the way home too which was good. The car was serviced on Monday and to me it just feels better than it did before it went in, probably my imagination.

Just wanted to share that with you all ! Even with the minor rattles, build quality and bad customer service, I love my 172 !

Yep, my 172s just coming up to 2k and its starting to loosen up nicely - when it hits the 5000rpm mark and turns into a rocket its bl00dy fantastic.

Not at the moment...my throttle cable is about to snap (hanging on by 2 threads) so I have to drive around like grampa with depression.

I have that same problem, she just doesnt seem to understand me ! One of our cats thought it would be nice to leave lots of nice muddy footprints over the length of the car last night ! There I was shouting at the little b**tard and the missus was just standing there laughing !

I agree, I love every single day of driving that car! The funny thing is I love cruising at 50mph on the motorway, listening to some tunes. Or just caining around some lanes also. Great car.

Daipac - me and my moggie have that exact same conversation, most nights, 10 mins after I get home. Hes up on the bonnet straight away revelling in the Renault warmth. I almost broke out my airsoft springer the other day to persuade him otherwise !

For me, the ownership experience thus far has been pain free (should I be saying that?)...sure the build quality is crap, but far better than Id been led to believe. Rattles are few and far between.

Mostly though, like most of you, I just enjoy driving it. If I was in my Mondeo still, Id have done no more than 4,000 miles since end of November. So thats 4,000 more miles just for the hell of it (and not always at full chat either).

Long may it continue...

LOL again @ NFL ! Maybe the little furballs are related !

My car seems to have very minor rattles so I am happy with it ! It is my 2nd 172 and I would not hesitate in having another one if I had the choice again.

I do have the 4k rattle but it is going to Renault to have this sorted next Thursday so all should be fine !

If I didnt lock my car away in the garage each night then I would definitely be keeping an eye on it in the drive !
