my exhast keeps blowing, even after resealing it!

on a mk1 1.2, it on the cup and ball joint, keeps blowing, ive replaced the clip, resealed it about 3 times now, but starts blowing after a week or so later!! what can i do?

They need to be done up very tight. Make sure they are also straight and that...none of your mountings are excessively worn or have failed.

also when sealing exhaust cups make sure that both the ball and socket are dirt and rust free (use a decent wire brush and really clean up the faces before applying the sealant). If you dont, the rust and crud that builds up can cause a small gap in the sealer that gasses can leak through and makee hole bigger - simple and sure you have already done it but just to be sure. And mirroring DJ point, that clamp has to be done up very very tight, not just pinch tight!

right i sealed my exhaust today, left my car on idle for ablout a hour, drove it to work, then on the way back home from work it started blowing again!!!! ARGH!!!!!!!!!

I had the same problem on my janspeed system - put it up on kwikfit ramps (My Priviledges) lol

took it all apart clean it - put new clamps on it and use some need white exhaust sealant they had in and now its spot one
