My iPad thinks I'm in New York - Why?

So last week my alarm never went off (I use my iPad as an alarm clock) and when I eventually woke up, I discovered my iPad had changed my time zone to New York. I turned the auto time zone on and off a few times, but still it wouldn't change from New York. Even restarting the iPad made no difference. Anyway, I set my time zone manually and thought nothing more of it.

Tonight I opened the maps app and hit the my location button and it's taken me to a location in New York that it thinks I'm at. Anyone have any idea why it's doing this? I tried the maps app on my iPhone (wi-fi only) to see if it would locate me in the same place as my iPad, but it didn't. It - correctly - places me in Edinburgh.

Any help is much appreciated!
