My Sierra Cosworth

  Clio 182 Trophy
I don't drive her anywhere near as much as I should, and hardly take any pics of her, but here's my Sierra Cosworth after having her 1st wash of the year...

Awesome!! It looks standard, is it ?

Performance wise it's standard power (204bhp).

However, I've added some newer bits off its younger 4x4 brother, consisting of;
4x4 bonnet vents (rwd ones didn't have them. Stupid considering the heat the turbo generates),
4x4 coolant tank (a common replacement that even the concours lads do),
4x4 front brake discs and calipers (they were are better than the ones that were on the rwd),
Uprated actuator (came on the car when I bought it. I'm trying to find a standard "new" old stock one to replace it).
The only other non standard bits are the wiring looms for the fans and fuel pump. These commonly fail as the car gets older, so the upgrade is purely for reliability rather than performance.

Mine was stage 1 with uprated actuator, cooler and ally rad. I snapped 3 driveshafts before realising my engine mount was broke.

Loved the feeling of being able to have 3 pals in and still break 150mph without a sweat.

Love it remember when you couldn't give these away ! Now it's name your own price time . Remember turning down an RS500 back in the day as insurance was more than the car if I had got it and kept it as it was then it would be 50 k plus car now:cry:

Lol even the bogo Sapphire 2ltr could do that. I remember driving my old mans bogo 2ltr Saph and looking down at the speedo on the M23

"Oh, f**k."

Took awhile to get going, but still lol

That Cossie looks familiar. Saying that, it may well just be a similar reg to another one I've seen. They're a great experience. Nothing comes close out of the modern cars. I like their rawness and the fact that it doesn't have half the driver aids modern cars have. Still, they were well specced in their day.

I've seen some RS500's go for £90k + :eek:penmouth:

I've seen them go over £100k. There's one priced at £120k at the moment and for it being exceptionally low in miles there's a good chance they'll get the full asking price.

I'm thinking along the lines of seeing pictures of it on RS forums. Like I say, I could be off the mark though.

I used to be on Passionford. When I moved it on, I did a deal on it with a girl from the Isle of White in 2014 for her Escort Cab and some cash. We met up at Birmingham services which was about half way.

Turns out, when her fella got out of jail, it wasn't actually hers to be doing deals with (she had a lad with her at the time posing as the registered keeper) and he took the cossie off her via the police under theft my deception. He took the engine and seats out, cubed it in a crusher and dumped it back on her driveway :grimacing:

What a sad end for such a great car. Sadly, Cossie's did attract some right wrong 'uns in their time.

He'd have been better off just taking ownership of it and sitting on it for a few years. Silly lad.

Following my post, I've had several PM's from people wanting to buy my Cossie.

To save replying individually, I'll just reply on here. Strictly, it's not for sale, but I guess everything in life has a price/value. With this in mind, although I'm not encouraging any offers, I have had way too many "offers" circa £15k and below. There is no way I'd ever be giving it away for that sort of price. Basically, it would take an offer that I couldn't refuse.

If you're wanting to discuss buying my car, make it a worthwhile offer, otherwise just allow me to enjoy owning and driving it.

I'm not intending to offend people with this post. I'm just trying to clarify things so that nobody wastes their time.

I'll give you 6 grand for it......😂
Awesome motor, keep it and like you said, enjoy it.

Haha! Deal!

Only joking. I'll enjoy it and only an offer out of this world would tempt me to sell.

Here's hoping for a long, hot summer and autumn to enjoy it.
