I was at a dealer today and after much conversation the dealer has decided this is all the car is worth and will not budge!! do you think my car is worth more as a trade in??? I know its only a pic but hey!! the guy also said If it was another car you were lookin at then maybe I could offer you more but the car you are buyin is already a good deal!!!

should I eave it and wait for him to come back and risk losin the car or jus go for it!!!

p.s its an 02 dynamique dci 65 with 33k goin in with only the tints on the windows and the rest standard!!

try ebay or the autotrader.

you will never get a good price from a dealer they are all money grabing t*sers.

they want to make money on the car you buy and also the one you are selling them.

there are many more cars in the sea.

if it goes then im sure youll get another soon.

When i bought my 172, the Ren dealer offered me book so i chucked it in the autotrader and sold it for £800 more. Never trade in, unless its a heap (Which it doesnt look like mate). Trade ins are a last resort imo!

Too true. When I looked at trading in my mint L reg. Calibra Turbo, against a Civic Type R, the dealer offered me £1300. I sold it private a month later for £2300!

Dealer might have thought it was a heap hence his offer, but always try private sale first, gives you more room for negotiation having a cash sale and no trade in.

they marked the car i want at the wrong price and are gonna hold it at that for me hence the sh*t offer!! so now its jus like gettin the car i want at normal price!! car is not a heap!!!!!

No one said it was a heap, we were saying if you owned a heap then trade it in. But if its decent (As your is) then sell it privately as you will get loads more money

just go to another reno dealer near by and try it again. It is often better to go at the end of the month because the salesman have to close X amount of deals by then.

Being as there selling new cars for ~8k near me (for 1.2 dynamics) Im gessing £5 is a reasonable estimate abite a low one. I recon mine (52 2002 with 23k) is worth £6k best.

Tying to seel private may get you some more money but you have to weight the extra risk of selling it against the extra cash. If theyre selling the other car at a low price and your not killing yourself for the extra money then Id say trade yours in.

Someone is always going to get a better price for a car you have to put up with it unfortunatly.

i would say that the offer is not that bad as these are booking @ £5700 with 25k on the clock. Might be trading mine in but its blue and i got offered £5500 so if you think its right then go for it mate! All the best
