my valver has just stopped!!

my valver has just stopped!!

just stalled as i got to a round about!!!!

it has juice, oil and water

i have drove about 20miles and then as i came to a roundabout it stalled and wont start.

any one got any ideas!!!!

please help!!!

On a serious note, id say it probs electrical too (maybe immobaliser?), whats appearing on the dash when you go to start it?

all normal lights come on when i turn on ignition.

Does the immobaliser light stay on on the dash when you try starting it?

Is there any kind of engine reaction?

sounds like the cambelt might of snapped

what happens when u turn the engine over

Doesnt it make constant clicking noise if the cambelts gone?

the starter will turn and it will sound whiney

happened in the exact same way to my mate car got to a roundabout and just stalled, every thing else was fine

my mate thinks it might not av a spark.

but wud that happen as i was driving??

My Immobiliser went off as I was on my road luckily, rolled home! it stalled out of nowehere, Ive now learnt that when I drive I need to see if the red light by the gear stick is flashing, try locking unlocking the car a few times..

Sounds like immobaliser deffinatly!!!

The only way to tell is get a decent mecahnic out with diagnostic material however he wont be able to recode it, youl need to send it to renault!!!

Ummmm i searched everything on the web last time and was in touch with many mechanics and even alarm people but nobody had the right equipment!!!

Even a french car specialist had ago but couldnt do it so good luck if that forum works but id say it happenin on your own!!!

well my mate says its the cambelt!!!

or dear!! gonna put another one on and see if its dun ne damage and then if it has im gonna need sum cash quick i think lol.

only had it 3 days n all

looks like its gonna cost around £400

my mates doin it so making it as cheap as he can lol.

no the seller didnt and i stupidly forgot t ask. saying that tho i wudnt av got it changed in three days lol

i did the head and cambelt on my driveway with the help of a haynes manual and a couple of weekends - its not that hard and if i could do it then a most people could!

might be cheaper to change engine or even just cylinder head

when i bent my valves on my clio it cost about £500 and that was with using a new cylinder head that i got for £150 with all new valves etc

new headgasket + head bolts
New cambelt

i went with the new cylinder head as the garage said if the guides are buggered aswell then its going to take longer and cost even more

You can pick up decent engines for £200-£300 of ebay

Cam belt went on mine (before i owned it) he had it fixed by renault (lol) and it needed 10 new valves and a few other bits - got the receipt in my folder - £1100!!! I wouldnt have bothered!!

managed to get all parts for £280

my mate will want bout £100 for doing it i think so not too bad!!

very exspensive 3 days of clio driving tho lol.

hope it int gonna carry on in this way lol
