My front windscreen has a stonechip in it on the drivers side.

Ive been told my car will fail its MOT when it does come around because of this.

I wont be covered under warranty for this will i?

How much does a new windscreen rougly cost?

No im affraid you wont be covered.

A new windscreen should only cost you £50 if you have the cover on your insurance, if not your looking at £150+

It will fail the MOT if the chip is within the sweep of windscreen wipers

claim on your insurance if the can fix it with an injection its usually free ifnot then yust you glass excess thts usually 50 and doesnt ffect your insurance

Yeah like the peeps say your insurance company should cover it with no effect on your policy, it does however depend on where the chip is and how big it is. There are certain zones where a new windscreen is required, The center iirc. Should just be a small injection job though. Get it fixed quickly as things like these can get worse with time.

If it is ANYWHERE within the sweep of the wipers it cannot be repaired and has to be replaced.

Not all policies cover windscreens, i know my 1st didnt as i had to pay full wack for them. Valver one cost me £135 and 172 cost £155 iirc
