n95 or k850i?

  Chocolate Bar™
Girlfriends got a K850i, its a good phone, but its not all that to be honest. Cameras not as good as it should be and has loads of little technical glitches. Dont have any experience of the N95 but assume its better

I am in the same dilema... N95 or the K850i...

The Nokia does have sat nav.. and I have heard the camera is not as good on the Sony as the Nokia...

The camera is better on the K850i.

The nokia's "sat nav" is less than great.

I have the K850i, there are a couple of things which irritate me a little.

1 - It seems a bit slow, especially with the touch screen things at the bottom, whatever the buttons are called. Seems to take a while to get into menus and stuff.

2 - When taking pictures, if you have your finger even slightly on the surface where the lens is, then the picture is very dark. And I mean, even if your finger is slightly on the edge of the face, then the picture will be dark.

Other than that, the camera seems good, the media album once you get used to it, is nice to use, and the functionality is much the same as all the other Sony's, which suits me.

Lots of reported technical faults though.

I thought I was gonna have to send mine back after 2 hours, as the auto lens cover wouldn't come off the camera, seems ok now though.

Exact same problems I get!

The K850 is a new platform for Sony Ericsson. They really should have tested it more before release.
Saying that I still love the phone! Night shots with the xenon flash are great!

K850i.

the camera is very good (lets be honest, if you want to take expert shots, your not gonna buy a camera phone), i have not found the menus that slow (it does have its moments though).

i came from a d900, and the media album was horrifically slow, maybe thats why i think the se menus are so good!

i have ordered the k850i only because i know the camera on the sonys are better. i use it for the camera as i have an ipod so no need for music on my phone really.

cheers for the thoughts. gsmarena is brilliant, use it all the time but the opinions are always foreigners asking when its out in their part of the world lol!!
