I've been using Autoglym car conditioning shampoo.... CRAP.

TurtleWax super dooper stuff...... CRAP

And today i bought some stuff from Halfrauds that the guy recomended and....... CRAP!

They are soapy for the first 5 minutes, then its like washing your with a bucket of water!

Any recomendations chaps??

The reason you arn't getting much soap from the AG one is because it is a low foaming shampoo, but contains a large amount of lubricants. Also people tent to put too much product in, use the amount it says and i bet you might change your mind.

But if you want suds, how about Chemical Guys Maxi Suds II

So far I've found that Meguiars Gold Class is the best shampoo. Certainly a difference in a pleasing shiny finish.:)

Advised to buy Duragloss since the Meguiars is nearly out.

In Bulk you wont go wrong with Meguiars Shampoo Plus or Meguiars Hyperwash - if you need even more suds just increase the quantitys a bit, sold in US gallon sizes they will still last you ages even if you use extra.

Where can i buy it in bulk Rich? I'll be doing 5/6 cars a day for about 4 weeks, then probably 5 a week after that. so will I need a lot?

I'm thinking 25l drum sizes...

US Gallons - 3 odd litres is as go as it gets. Though the Hyper Washes ratio of 400:1 means one pump (oh er!) does a bucket, so that should last okish.

May be worth getting onto you local AG Rep they do a foamy version of the shampoo in 25 litre drums.

Duragloss in US gallons is a fair shout, though loses out to the Hyperwash in the ration of the amount needed, damn nice shampoo.

Local Vauxhall dealer should be able to supply Sonax Gloss Shampoo in decent sizes aswell though it did not seem that cheap when I priced it up.

Im going to get slated for this, but ive found the Tesco value car shampoo quite good, its 75p for a litre. Its obviously not as good as some as the top stuff but its 75p, I tend to wash my car a fair bit especially in the summer so for a quick wash its fine. I have got some better stuff for when its getting a full detail but i can't tell the difference and in answer to your qustion yes it is foamy.

Other way round here if I know I am going to polish and wax I just use the cheap stuff. Use the other stuff to maintain the look between big details or waxings.

I assume thats because any damage inflicted to the paint will be cancelled out by the polishing anyway?

I love megs gold class, fill with the power wash and its awesome, the mitt just glides on the paint. :D

For foaming, the hose pressure is the key!!

I'd recommend Citrus cash and gloss over the body wash and wax which is much more oily...

My views on Car Shampoos.

Best finish:

Sonax Gloss Shampoo
Duragloss 901

Best Value and for bulk use:

Meguiars Hyper Wash
Meguiars Shampoo Plus

Those are the only ones I really use anymore though do use the Swissvax Car Bath on my 182 when it is wearing one of there waxes.
