Haha.

I have really been enjoying the car so far. Handles great, looks great, fairly quick. I have not been enjoying the 22MPG that much, but Its not a massive problem because Its just a car for evenings and weekends. I have been reading about all the gearbox problems people have been having and It has kind of got me worrying about it. Is this just luck of the draw, or is there anything at al I can do to prolong the life of it?
I just bought an extra years warranty from RUK for £377 for a little more peace of mind, which brings it up to September 2014.

I have to say driving this car has been an eye opener for me, as the other clio I own is this.

Gearbox tips?

Don't rush it. I try to be as smooth as possible with mine, 'feeling' my way gently into each gear. Has been fine so far (42k miles) And works daily without complaint or concern. Having said that I don't doubt for one second that if I attacked it and went for 1/4 mile type rapid shifts, it would crumble into dust without hesitation.

Above all...enjoy it!

I am always very "mechanically sympathetic" with my gearboxes anyway. Rev matching, being gentle with changes and waiting till everything is warm before any enthusiastic driving.
I have noticed that 1st gear is sometimes a bit difficult to get into, but from what I have read, this seems to be the norm.

Thanks for the advice.
