Newbie- Just bought Ph 3 RT

Hi

Youll be seeing me about a bit now. Just bought a 96 N, met green, phase 3, 1.4 RT. Staying standard until the summer when Im home from uni.

Couple of newbie questions:


Does my model have ABS- theyres a light on the RHS of the dash but its never illuminated?
Ever heard of a Long Champs SE? I suspect its just crappy stickers put on by a dealership?
WTF is the button on the end of the wiper stalk for???? :D

If the ABS light doesnt come on when you put the ignition on, you havent got it. Or in the unlikely chance you do and its a blown bulb. Easiest way to check is to look under your bonnet. Youll see something under there with ABS on it.

As for the button on the wiper stalk, if thats the one Im thinking of, its not actually a button. Its just something to help you push the stalk inwards to sound the horn.

Dont know about the stickers. Rip them off, join the club and put some ClioSport stickers in your windows.

Button is on the wiper stalk, not the indicator/lights stalk. Stickers are coming off this weekend! Anyone wants them? A lovely gold double pinstripe with a leaping horse on the rear panel! Classy! lol

ABS- Ill have a ganders! Brakes are pretty shocking at the mo (bedding in) Might whack my foot down and see if it kicks in :D

Hello there matey, WELCOME

Ok then the button on the end of the wiper stalk is used to de-activate the imobiliser if you know the code. You need to do a series of button presses along with a series of presses on the accelarator this code should have been with the original paperwork for the car when it was new. So like me you probably dont have it coz the old owners didnt pass it on, so the button is in affect useless.

Ahhhhh! Nice one, got a lot of old paper work- service book, owners manual etc so Ill have a flick through the folder! Can the immob be deactivated with out it? What if I lose my key????

Expensive trip to Renault I assume???

Better look after it then. Only came with one key. Anyone purchased one from Renault?

No sign of ABS, assume its just a standard dash?
