Hi all
just joined up and thought I would introduce myself.
I'm a serial owner of what I deem to be 'interesting' cars.
Currently got a mark 1 MR2 (3rd one I've owned), which is up for sale, and a mark 1 MX5 track car co-owned with a friend.
Generally, I don't keep cars very long (6-10 months) as there are so many cars I want to try out.
I've had the MR2 for a year now, which is unusual for me and cars I've owned in the past few years are as follows...
TVR Chimaera 450 (pure theatre)
VX220 (made the mistake of owning it for 6 months which included a very hard winter)
Audi TT 225 (fast but boring)
Celica GT4 (good fun)
MX5 Turbo (245bhp pocket rocket. I have owned this particular car twice in the last few years)
BMW M Roadster (320bhp of awesomeness)
Toyota Soarer twin turbo (smooooth)
So, I've looked at my list of 'must try one of those' and decided that its a Clio RS for me next (172 or 182)
I'm enjoying researching the car and having a good poke around the forum.
As always, the prices seem to vary across a large range and for this next car I've set myself a budget around £2k.
A decent 172 seems easily achievable for that, but I have a hankering for a 182 purely for the twin rear pipes (shallow of me I know).
Is it possible to get a 'good' 182 for £2k? I know there are some kicking around for that price or lower but most seem to have super high mileage, have some issues or are just about to need belts done. I don't want to get a car that I know will very soon need major expense to sort issues or keep the service schedule up to date (ie belts).
Comments welcome.
Anyway, good to be here and looking forward to RS ownership
