Ive been with norwich union since i passed my test on ther rapid bonus scheme where 9 months equals to 1 years no claims,So after ive been driving for 18 months ive got 2 years no claims.
But im planning on changing to another insurer and have been getting quotes would you put in 2 years or actually tell them youve been on a rapid bonus scheme with my previous insurer and say that ive only been sriving 18 months:confused: ,Thanks

well you are obviosuly going to have to tell them that you were on a rapid bonus scheme.

As the dates will not match up to when you passed etc.....

Be warned not all other insurance companies accept rapid schemes.

Give them a call and see what they say. Some will take it. Some will use the dates you have passed so 1year and 6months!

ok thanks,Any ideas if elephant accept rapid bonus ,as thats who im switching to and have had a good quote online with me putting in 2 years NCD

ive been driving for 2 years... however i have 3 years no claims.

this is due to Nationwide giving me an extra year for doin Pass Plus...

Basically as soon as it says you have 2/3 years on your renewal notice thats your proof that you supply to your new insurer. how you got that bonus is irrelevant.

I cant be certain mate.

The only way you will know for deffinate if by calling them up and asking.

You will get a straight answer that way :)

Good luck with it all, i know insurance is a pain but we might as well do it right hey :D

Just a Question - never cropped up b4 while i been reading forum

they will use the proof you supply them, to trace the history of the no claims... and then gather the information on how it was earnt.

good question tho... i could be wrong and you could be lucky if they make a mistake. lol

well ive just had my renewal through from my old insurar which is norwich union and it says on the bottom

"No claims discount :18 months (discount allowd equivalent to 2 years NCD)"

Fubar so say if you go and get a quote on the net do you put in 2 years or 3 years?

Im hoping elephant accept it or else i wont be getting my new motor,Anyways thanks guys

i put in 3 years because thats what it says on my renewal form.

i explain that i did pass plus so that gave me another year, and they say as long as you can prove you have 3 years we dont care.

basically if its in black and white on your renewal, use it!

so say if you was in my position would you put in 2 years or give them a ring as the quote i got online i thought was so good

dont lie to them... just tell them exactly what it says on your renewal form, which in your case is 18 months accelerated to 2 years. :)

they will ask for proof anyway

Yup as Fubar mentiond dotn LIE !!

tell them simply u were on a rapid scheme, says you have 2yrs NCB with 18mnts of driving.

If they say its a problem then fine go to another company. Chances are they will say yer whatever and take it hehe

yep... best off to just get the quote off the net and ring them up to finalise it... explaining your situation.

they will ask for your old renewal notice as proof
