Noisey Tappets

Hey dudes.. i was wondering if anyone else has this? My 1.2 16v is 700 miles old, and in neutral with the clutch up you can really hear it bad... is this normal or are they worn already? Ive not really been ragging it... only a few times!

Try the search option - Ive been here too but mine turned out to be normal. I just never noticed it before.

Mines quite bad, its covered 6k now. Ive got a courtesy car today and it is nowhere near as tappety as mine so im gonna ask when I pick the car up tomorrow. Mines really tappety when you are going along and its definately more so than this courtesy car with the same engine!

I posted something about this a couple of weeks ago but im still not sure.

Hmmm.. well my clio is definitely more tappety at idle with the clutch up than my 205 ever was.. and that had done 77k miles. Do you think its worth taking it to renault?

the car is new. You paid for it. Its not right. You have a warranty. See where I am going with this?

Take it back and get it sorted if they fob you off with "they all do that sir" demand to test drive another car to see this. Do not take any crap from dealers, how do you think they get away with what they do.

But I mean.. does everyones 1.2 16v sound tappety or is it just mine? I mean fair enough, if the engine is naturally tappety loud, then thats fine, im just wondering if its just mine?

See if renault have a slightly thicker oil as one of their options (to keep the car in warranty) and try that?
